The Centre «HERA» is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, working in the field of health protection and maintenance since 1995.
The main goal of our activities is the creation of a network of Informational and Educational Reproductive Health Centers throughout the Russian Federation.
The Centre «HERA» is an independent, non-political organization. Our centre works on democratic principles, and believes in the values of equal right, freedom and justice.
Our principles:
Every person has the right to receive correct and up-to-date information in the field of health, including sexuality, sexual and reproductive health;
such information must be accessible to every one regardless of nationality, race, religion, language, culture, social status, gender, sexual orientation and age;
we respect the right of every person to make their own choice in matters of health according to personal convictions, values and opinions.
Our goals:
Research into the situation in the Russian Federation:
collection of information on the state of health of Russian population, especially among the young people and women of reproductive age, including: use of contraception, abortion rate, STIs, HIV and AIDS, violence against women;
research into public opinion on sexual health, sexual behavior and the influence of advertising.
Promotion of public knowledge regarding health,;
Preventing the spread of STIs, including HIV and AIDS. Provision of information about family planning and modern contraception;
Creation of counseling services on the questions of health protection, including reproductive health. Creation of help lines for target group:
Provision of medical, psychological trainings and seminars for professionals and different target group in Moscow and in other regions in Russia on the methods of work with target group;
Networking for policy advocacy;
Creation of legal consequences for the provision of health care services in Russia.
Our target groups:
Adolescents and youth.
Women of reproductive age, including disadvantaged women.
